If you like it then don't worry about the Merida brand. I have a Merida Scultura road bike and it's a cracking bike.

Merida make a lot of other brand's bikes IIRC.

Buy the bike that you really like most and that you can afford. Don't forget to factor in insurance, mudguards etc

Aarrrgghhh.. typical. After weeks looking at every single bike in the entire world I decide on THE one. My bike. The only one which will do. And can I find one anywhere? Can I buggery. I know it's going to more than likely be pre owned rather than New, which is fine by me as long as it's been properly looked after, SO.. if any of you hear of one going up for sale could you let me know? Lovely bike, I had a 1995 Lava Dome. Lent it to my son who wrecked the forks going stupid downhill.

I've no space, otherwise I'd be tempted.

Does it have to be the carbon version? I looked at the link you posted and then followed the All Specialized option and found this:

Same price, but alloy frame, and also has Tiagra so a slight upgrade on the Sora spec of the carbon. Not an expert but seems to be a similar bike.
