Hi, and a very Merry Christmas to you all ... even if it's a day late ^_^

I bought myself a used smart trainer for Xmas, it's a Zwift Hub+Click. I've downloaded the Zwift game and companion apps onto my iPad and connected the trainer, click and heart rate monitor via Bluetooth and all appears to be functioning correctly. So far so good :okay: Somewhere in the Zwift app - don't ask me where - I have enabled the link between Zwift and my Garmin account but it's not sending any data at the end of a ride.

I find the "Help" in the Zwift apps to be less than helpful so thought I'd come here to find out what I'm doing wrong 🤷‍♀️. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

In the companion Zwift app

Go to settings, then connections

Then select which programs you want to link. Put in your login details for those accounts

Check on the Garmin end to see if you need to enable permissions

Hi, and thanks for the prompt response. I think that was what I had done but to make sure I have just disconnected the link between Zwift and Garmin and re-connected again. When I did this the other day I don't remember Zwift asking for my Garmin details but it did this time. It's just possible that Zwift remembered my Garmin details from a previous attempt at using the app and the Garmin password may have been different then to now.

I guess I will have to go and give it a try and see what happens ^_^

Do you know if I can get the data from the Zwift rides I've done recently sent over to Garmin somehow?

You can download the FIT files from Zwift, then manually import them into Garmin Connect.

Go to https://www.zwift.com/uk/feed to find your recent activities, click on them, then on the "cog" icon and it'll show you the option to get the FIT file.

On Garmin Connect (https://connect.garmin.com), click the "cloud" icon in the top right corner, then choose Import Data.

Cheers for that steverob, I'll give it a try :okay:

Excellent! Worked perfectly :bravo:

I have been contemplating a Zwift Ride for a while. I don't have Zwift and don't intend to subscribe, I like the neatness of the ride bike and core so will just use it as a trainer in erg mode with the Wahoo app.

I know that without Zwift, I cannot use the virtual gears. My question is, does anybody know what gear ratio equivalent the Zwift cog uses in erg mode? I know it is not really a gear as such but it must work to a set level of resistance for the flywheel which will feel like a certain gear.

The reason I ask is that I use currently erg mode in a large gear (52 x 13). This creates a greater rotational speed in the flywheel which I prefer, compared to the lower speed of a smaller gear.

I am trying to find out what the Zwift cog is closest too in feel?

Sorry, can't help with your question - but I have to agree with you ref the neatness of theZwift Ride setup. Recently bought one for my wife, who loves it - and she is trying to persuade me to dtch my Neo 2T with old bike attached in favour of getting another Zwift Ride because it would be much neater/smarter.

Great time to buy with the Zwift Sale. £899 is a great price.

There's no need to do it manually.

Just connect the apps and everything will appear everywhere. Use the instructions that Andy posted and then make sure it all shows at the Garmin end (screenshot from Connect):

There is also 3rd option if you have Garmin computer. You can use it simultaneously with Zwift, only speed and distances doesn't match with Zwift because Garmin computer doesn't know anything about virtual downhills and uphills. Garmin computer can have little bit more data as well if that is in a wish list.

I actually do that myself but I wasn’t sure if it would bring in rides that were done before the connection was set up, so suggested the manual mode just in case.

No worries! Yes, I had seen it was on sale which was why I was keen to try and make a decision on it. I think if I go ahead I am just going to have to bite the bullet and buy one. Doubt I am going to find an answer without just buying and giving it a go!

Hey folks, just thought I'd let you know Zwift is now talking to Garmin properly and data is flowing :bravo:

I did the manual export/import thing and then set about getting data uploads automatically. I had used Zwift for a few weeks back in 2023 and the links to Strava and Garmin were both selected within Zwift. I disconnected both Strava and Garmin from the connected apps in Zwift and redid the connection and it all just worked. It's quite likely that I had reset my passwords in both Strava and Garmin at some point so Zwift wasn't able to make the connection.

Anyway, now that's out of the way I can get on with life again.

As an aside, I am trying Rouvy and MyWhoosh in addition to Zwift to see which one I prefer. I guess I'm a bit different to most Zwift users in that I find the community side of the app to be off-putting. By choice and preference I'm a rather solitary rider in real life and the sheer number of other users on Zwift is rather distracting. One thing though, it has sparked my competitive nature and I find trying to catch the rider in front almost irresistible (if often unachievable) ^_^
