So in their defence if it is common knowledge or at least if I knew it was happening on my way home I would ensure that I went a different way, or is that too far out of the box?

The London one's a bit more unpredictable than that. Besides the start and the time it could take any direction. On the other hand it's no more unpredictable than one of the tube lines going down causing traffic jams, or an argument on a bus about a ticket causing traffic jams, or a lorry spilling a consignment of guacamole causing traffic jams. The only thing that's predictable about driving through central London is traffic jams. It's a fact of life. It's one of the many reasons so many cycle.

It's all that and more. Like the pride events it can be liberating, assertive and outrageous. All good things in my book. To reduce it to 'annoys motorists' is simple-minded simplistic.

Despite Critical Mass running every last Friday of the month for nineteen years there hasn't been one single incident of a child's birth being delayed.

I'm sure there hasn't but you never know. It could happen.
