Also allowed me to go around and re-seal any air gaps since the conservatory was built - we could feel gaps (air moving) between the brick of the house and the frame of the conservatory. 30 years would allow a few mm of movement.

All done. Cleaned the conservatory on the outside - a new extending 7m pole and a 'brush' with a bucket of concentrated TFR (car cleaning stuff) brought it up a treat. This then meant all the interior windows needed a good clean !

That's the hot tub pump repaired (yes I know, I know). We bought an inflatable one years ago, and it sits in it's own walled gazebo in the garden so it quite protected. During the warranty, the 'blower' failed. So we were sent a whole new unit (heater/pump/blower). It's been used for spares, like a replacement impeller when it wore out etc.

This time the pump went - I initially thought the impeller had gone, but upon inspection, the pump unit had split allowing water ingress.

Dug out the old 'unit' from the garage loft and the original pump was re-purposed. Cost of the job zero. Saved £60 from getting a refurbished pump off ebay.

Shower (Triton electric cold feed type) seemed a bit lukewarm this morning, works OK on hot and cold but the mid setting just wouldn't respond very well.
No time to mess, its pretty important it's working for.my wife...Screwfix for the Triton easy fit one so it should almost be a straight swap.
And it was so...probably spent more time looking for specific tools and a 15mm olive than actually swapping them out. Couple new holes drilled, not quite the same profile so just need a bit of grey silicone ...tested and working.
Wife has now de stressed

My oil burner capacitor repair didn't last long. The motor packed in shortly afterwards. I decided to order a complete burner as individual parts were around 30% of complete assembly. A few setup issues, sorted, a thorough clean of soot inside the heating chamber, runs great now.

With that finished, our friends wanted me to fit a heatmiser Internet connected timer/thermostat to their boiler. They could not fathom the old timer having just moved house.

They liked the simplicity of the heatmiser app we have. So yesterday I fitted it. 5 core rubber flex, conduit and backbox. All sorted now.

And ours has now all been refurbished. We got a plumber in to actually fit the shower panels and connect up the shower, but I did he flooring and he bit of additional tiling needed, and covered all the cupboard doors in there with the same alloy panels as had been used for the shower.

Quite pleased with the final look. The cupboard doors were all done over this last weekend the flooring had been done the previous weekend.

If the pumps housing? split, it's likely designed to do so, in which case it may repeat with the other pump, so it might be an idea to reinforce it somehow.
For ex, clothes racks, plastic (corner) connections of steel tubes, steel tubes end shifts under some pressure inside plastic, but plastic is made too thin and after a while it splits open. So, I decided to strap some layers of tape around all these plastic connections, and since, no further splits anymore.

It's taken years for it to split, and it's not a big item and they are available quite cheaply on ebay (£60). It's a sealed unit, only one opening for the impeller replacement.

Get some piano wire, shove it down the pipe and spin it on a drill or use compressed air to dislodge the blockage

DO NOT do that - I've seen many a waste pipe or trap ruined by people putting probes down them. The best thing to do (before removing any traps or undoing any connectors) is to block the overflow and use a plunger. I've only ever encountered one waste where this didn't work in over 20 years.
