After 2 or 3 years of very little decorating (more important at the time to care for my wife)..the house looks like it needs work, it looks a bit tired.
Today, over to Wickes, proper oil based gloss, brushes and a few bits £46 eek.
Tomorrow, i start the hall stairs and landing glosswork (13 doors iirc).

Drilled hole in back of sideboard to run a power cable through, now the printer can stay in cupboard when we want to print anything, keeps everything nice and tidy.

Did some dyke clearing yesterday for a mate- 500 metres, took all day. Hadn't been done by the previous owner for 20 years

That isn't the right spelling for that type of dike

Chillblains at school then at their mums for the night so barring the dog, an ideal time to get some painting done.
Hallway, 5 doors, frames and skirts glossed. Dogs crate and freezer had to come out from under the stairs to get to everything so painted the walls under there too while accessible.
It's never simple is it, so much stuff to do just to get to where you need. It'll all go back in the morning the second phase next Friday (probably do some more walls while girls are at school next week)
Isnt 'proper' gloss getting harder to buy now...I've used water based in the past but fed up of having to three coat it everytime...and it doesn't take damage, and its peeled in places..so oil based it is this time.
