I love them but don't like them messed about with - please don't add chocolate! I see Sainsbury's are suggesting adding a slice of bacon :stop:

I'm still undecided whether to make my own this weekend.

I prefer cold hot cross buns. As many as possible with lots of butter.

And without adding anything odd, as anne above mentioned.

YES, YES, YES and NO to chocolate.
Plain ones without any fruit are also an abomination.

Slightly stale hot cross buns. Cut into 2 and spread butter and jam. Put into small ramekin and fill with custard. Into hot oven for around 20 mins. Yum.

Where oh where am I going to find stale hot cross buns? I might have to get a stale loaf of raisin bread and try that recipe. Thanks.

Love them as they are when fresh, and absolutely delicious the next day just lightly toasted with a bit of butter on.
No to chocolate!

Edit : In fact, I'd better get going before they sell out!

Just been to the local bakers.
£3.20 for 4 hot cross buns seems expensive, when you can get a pack for £1
But they are much nicer than the ones from the supermarket.
