Coconut is meant to be wrapped in chocolate and eaten in the form of a bounty bar.

Bounty bar; probably the only product ever made containing chocolate that I DON'T like! Strangely I do like coconut, but somehow Bounty bars just don't do it for me.

To answer the OP, coconut should be dessicated and served as an accompaniment to a hot curry.

When I go out on long rides with a group in Manila we regularly stop at a roadside fruit shop(s) that has coconuts and other fruits. With the coconuts we first of all drink the liquid inside then eat the 'flesh' straight from the shell and it makes us good for quite a few more kilometres. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big difference between a fresh green coconut and the dried brown ones we get here though, not so easy to eat the flesh once its dried hard.

What a bunch of softies! I rather like coconut and buy one whole if I see one. Drill two holes at 180 degrees to each other around the circumference, drain the milk for drinking later and then a couple of sharp blows with a large hammer with the nut held against the bottom to the first step of the stairs opens it up. I love the texture and often eat a third of of a coconut at one sitting. Lovely!
