I don't think you can have a go at YU for this. He's 14? therefore could only do a paperound that wouldn't bring in as much money compared to you working part time.

I had a paper round at that age, and have a paper round now.
I earn £2 less for the paper round, compared to what i get paid weekly for my job.

Are you sure?

Quite;) harmless banter, although I think Dave5N might be serious because we were talking about it at the track

I'd like that, don't worry about dropping me on the hills, my weight means I will catch you on t'other side.

I'm a heavy weight, but my power means on short sharp climbs I can cope, but on longer drags I struggle a litle bit, but I will catch up, you just sit tight and try and prepare yourself to witness my super aero positions:evil:

under 10 stone is very very light.....
Also a fixed is faster (on the flat)

How do you get that? If you cant spin the gear fast enough, and for long enough, its obviously not going to be faster on the flat.
Be prepared for downhills then YC, im pretty fast up hill, have the power to sprint up short sharp climbs, then spin fast down, and honk up long ones.
Aero positions go out.
But, you will be faster up, down and on the flat.
But, if your good on the track, you must be good on fixed, no? Come on fixed on the road?

Yes because people choose gears which are too big for them....

I will be quite soon - jsut need to wait for a new shed then I am getting a frame down from the roof and turning it into a fixed gear commuter for getting to school, and to general muck around on:tongue:

How tall are you?

5"7
I ride about a 99" gear for TTing(if i counted the teeth right) and only sometimes, could i do with a slightly smaller gear.
Fixed on the flat isnt hugely faster, unless you can ride fixed right. Get up to 30mph and you can be spinning pretty fast.
Feel free to come and over to Nottingham for a fixed ride then, YC. Or anyone else.

No, nob.
Track riders are on the flat, so can gear higher.
I however, have hills to contend with. So obviously, with normal every day riding, when i have hills to go up, i cant have a huge gear on can i?
I wouldnt go around every day in my 99" gear, because i would come to a hill and struggle up it.
So i have a 72" gear, which is good up hills(cuz i can honk it up hills, proper hills aswell) and spin down them fast, and also sprint up to 32mph on the flat and keep up in chain gangs.
Now, i know someone who has a 74" fixed, and is slower down hills and on the flat because he cant spin.
