BMI is meaningless.

It is 66.3% here in Calderdale, so near enough 2/3! (I think Hebden Bridge is probably significantly lower than that though.)

I am bucking the trend - I just worked out that my BMI was 31.1 when I got ill in 2012, but is now 23.9 and falling. I aim to stick at about 22.0.

Yes, it can be meaningless for individuals of the wrong build (e.g. very muscular), but you can't seriously be saying that it isn't highlighting a serious problem in populations?

(I happen to be one of the people that BMI works pretty well for. I am a medium build and am flabby at 25 and skinny at 19.)

That's what I was thinking. Mind, obese used to mean someone with a BMI of 40 or over, and now it is 30.
