Depending on exactly what you and the company do, you may get a better deal offering your services on a self employed/consultancy/day rate basis. You'll certainly be better off tax and N.I wise that way.My one dilema is what part time salary to request. My employer will be getting all my skills in peak periods and paying nothing in quieter times. Seems to me this should have a premium.
