How many layers?

I had a ride on Saturday, in what was officially very cold weather, and in my quest to be Mr Average, this is the unremarkable list of what I wore:
A thermal base layer.
A short-sleeved cycling top.
A long-sleeved cycling top over that.
A pair of bib 3/4 with footy socks and a pair of short socks under them
A pair of cycling tights over the above arrangement.
Cycling shoes with neoprene overshoes (first time ever trying them out...neato!)
A revolving bow tie that squirts water.
A top hat with a plastic flower attached to it.
A scarf with a wire arrangement to make it stick out and look like I'm going fast.
