about £50 a week between us - which is substantially less than when we were eating out a lot before I quite working.

Lately I've been having fortnightly binges when I pop down to Pompey for a home game. A round of 3 pints costs under £9, so I take advantage of the non-London prices. I don't bother for the 2 weeks inbetween, don't go to pubs anymore since July 2007!

Not sure I'd ever do the same again unless I was celebrating something special (the Whisky I mean) .

There is a good whisky shop in finnieston, just across the local tesco, after the athena greek taverna. You can buy a really good bottle for about £ 35.00.

I know, I like Talisker et al, but this was £27 per single. It was, I think, a Tullibardine, and all it tasted of was Polished wood. gorgeous stuff it was!

I do like my red wine, so probably spend more than I should !

I could quite easily neck 6 cans of Stella every night.

Alas, the other-half, health and financial pressures prevent that. So i'll limit to only a couple a night when I can afford it.

So, I could spend £40-50 but realistically, spend about £20-25 per week.

I barely touch alcohol nowadays (does it make sense to say I just got bored of it?)
My wife however, drinks wine straight from the bottle
