I have no idea, I drink when I want which is probably less than some and more than others and definitely less than 3bm and theclaude.
It takes a big chunk of my disposable income. I follow Brendan Behan's advice from beyond the grave:
How about this from Asterix and Caesar's Gift...

And when I'm dead don't bury me at all,
Just pickle my bones in alcohol,
An amphora of wine at my head and feet,
And then I'm sure my bones will keep.

I usually have 300litres of beer conditioning at different stages and countless country wines, yet I find I'm drinking less and less, but drinking better quality.

Gooseberry wine will be ready soon so am looking forward to a bottle that I'll probably polish off by myself which is about 12%

I spend about £40 a month on home brew, plus an average of £30 per week. So typically about £160ish a month, all on beer. I don't even drink during the week. No wonder I'm skint!

I have some bloody good weekends though...

I worked out i was spending around £50 a month on booze. A bottle of wine and a couple of beers per week (I rarely go to the pub now as I don't have any friends it's too expensive. So like the two posters above I've started homebrewing. so far it's cost me £200 and all I've had is 40 pints! Mind you, there's another 80 pints conditioning, 40 in the bucket bubbling away, and I'll probably start on a Belgian 'dubbel' ale tomorrow. It should work out at around £25 a month (thus halving the cost), after a few batches, but I'd be drinking twice as much! And I haven't even started on the hedgerow wine projects yet...
