I have just been doing some insurance quotes on a comparison site on some cars in my area on ebay. On one car, a Comp quote just for me on the car would be £1700. If I insured both my parents on it as well, I would be able to insure it for £1000. Thats a saving of £700 just for two people who would probably never drive it.
I think it is just remarkable how things like that work.

I investigated Third party and TFT cover as well and both were well over £2000.

You just got to dig in Mat, drive safe and build up your No Claims Discount.

That's a big saving though.

I've just renewed the insurance on my old Ford KA, it cost me just over £500, and I'm in my 60's and have had a car license since 1982.

When I got insurance for the first time I paid nearly £800 although I got quotes of up to £2000, and that was a couple of years ago before insurance prices sky rocketed. Now I have a couple of years no claims and my insurance isn't anything like that now. You'll just have to shop around, not all insurance companies appear on comparison websites. You could try Admiral or Elephant if you don't mind no frills insurance, they're the two cheapest in my experience.

Don't forget to factor cash back into your comparisons. You may get up to 100 back if you look around. I typically recoup about 1/3 of my 130-150 yearly cost. I'm an old safe guy with a tiny car though.

You're not doing too badly at those prices.
My insurance is around £800 with max no claims discount. It is for high mileage and business use though.

I was with Direct Line but now with LV.

Just tell them that everything thing will be recorded on head cam so when you crash you'll have all the evidence that its not your fault!!

I will be fitting cameras in it but I dont think the insurers would use them (in the policy). Mainly because they are not equipment they have provided (like the black box) and also because I can easily turn them on and off. It is something I would put to them though.

Do you live in Beirut? Mine is usually about £300 fully comp. 51 years old, licence since 1983, 2006 Toyota Corolla 1600, full NCD, low risk post-code, clean licence etc..

Do you have points or something? My last car was a Ka (up until a year and a half ago), and I was fully comp at around £200. My Tigra has a bigger engine and is worth more, and my insurance is still fully comp at the same kind of price.
