The snoring thread got me thinking about this, I have the ability to at will fall asleep within the space of a minute.
i don't know why, i don't know how, i just let my mind go blank relax and - alarm..
now with me being a loud snorer obviously this infuriates my missus as it takes her quite a while to go off to sleep, i was just wondering if anyone else is like me and can fall asleep on the drop of a hat?
i find it rather convenient for power naps and the like.

Yup, i'm the same. Usually fall asleep quite quickly and can also sleep anywhere (apart from planes)
My missus also says that I could sleep through WW3.
However I seem to wake up at the slightest noise or cry that our 2yo makes and he's in his own bedroom with 2 closed doors between us.

Usually 10 minutes.

My problem is at the other end. I get up for work ad 6am, and usually always wake around the same time at the weekend. I'll lie about for an hour then get up to watch TV or something.

Usually within 2 or 3 minutes for me...once i close my eyes, its quick.
Occasionally its a mare of course, you toss and turn, get jiggy legs, mind starts to go into overdrive...but thankfully thats rare.

Generally terrible at drifting off, mainly due to shoulder pain. Can only sleep on my right side. I try and take herbal relaxing tablets and avoid caffeine in evenings.

I read before going to sleep. Sometimes this takes half an hour. Sometimes until the sun comes up the following morning.
I am like that.
I have lost my sleep patterns again due to a couple of daytime sleeps to get rid of migraines recently. However, before that I was getting off to sleep after about 2-3 hours, that's pretty good for me.

I can sleep anytime, anywhere, even for only 20 min, and even though I drink double espresso like others swallow irn bru
Weirdest place I've taken a nap: on top of a heap of flat packed pizza boxes!
