If I go to a cafe with a friend and she is buying, she buys one piece of cake and we share. If I am buying, I buy two pieces and we share one of them, then I eat the other one!

If there is the opportunity, I like to upcycle: once I found a quite big cat tree left for the rubbish uplift, took all the bits, reupholstered it using some free carpet tiles from work, reassembled it, covered the top shelf with some old, soft fabric I had.
Cat loves sleeping in it, they cost about £50 new.

There's a big difference between being tight and using resources properly.

I can't abide tight people who never get the beers in, always ducking out of paying their fair share of the bill or always moaning about the price of stuff. Especially when you know that cash isn't a problem for them.

Agreed. I'm not tight, but I do like to get the most out of things.

I had never met a real tight with money person until I moved to Lincolnshire. Tea bags on lines, not washing or only fortnightly, driving with no lights on (saves fuel)
