Sounds like Mrs ND - it's been known for me to get back from a ride and find virtually every light in the house on - during the day!!!

I certainly hope not, as I once counted at about 95 light-bulbs in the house, from the cooker, including the basement, to the 8-bulb brass-thing, in the main hall-way

When I travel by train I buy the champagne in Waitrose before departure. The wine in first class is frightfully expensive.

That's odd because whenever I travel first class (East Coast) the wine - along with all the other drinks and food - has been free.

I always find uses for old inner tubes.Using one as bar tape on one of the fixies.It's great...Planning to do the other fixie when I can be arsed.

I am always looking for ways to save money. Today I am working on Home made Mocha Frappes like McDonalds. I am close but I believe I need to freeze the coffee to do it properly. I just threw out all my ice treys not too long ago. I am very close but the frozen coffee cubes I think will make it just like at Mickey D's.

Next on the agenda will be planning the hunt for wild blackberries. I used to find them everywhere when i was a kid but it has been a long time since i saw any. Not sure if it is worth the risk of getting bitten or stung but I am going to do some searching this year.

I save money by making my own diamonds. I wait till @Drago's all greasy from mixing up a batch of homebrew Waxoyl, then shove a piece of coal when the sun doesn't shine. No paying H Samuel prices for me!

I save up the vegetable scraps and use them to make vegetable stock.

I keep all the AA batteries from other appliances that are running out of juice and run the house clocks on them until they stop altogether.

No bread ever gets thrown out. When it is too old and dry, it gets left out in the sun and then turned into breadcrumbs.

My son's uneaten bread crusts go down my throat.

I can get more out of a toothpaste tube than they put in it in the first place.

Any empty washing up liquid bottle can give you enough suds for a couple of basins of washing up. And the gunk left in the cap will do another two.

I'd rather walk around the house in the dark than turn lights on.

I used to turn off the heating when I went to the pub. Stopped that now as the wife complains!

My wife has also reminded me:
The spatula is the most used utensil in the kitchen - nothing hits the bin until it is clean inside.
I always swill out tomato cans with stock, and put in the pan (only when the recipe demands tinned tomatoes, of course)
Juice cartons - when there is nothing left, I cut off a corner at the top, unfold the corners at the bottom, and get a couple more drops out.
