How can one get to sleep this evening? Thinking about going to a job you hate with co-workers you can’t trust. Also after going to bed later and getting up later for 10 days?
I’m close to phoning up mind.

Don't, stay awake. Chances are they might think you caught something over the New Year, which you can also blame if you nod off.

And it'll help you get to sleep the second night.

I'm bored to death with my job as i have nothing to do as its winter ..
Working with elderly and people with various stages of dementia is a challenge most days.
Its hard to focus at times as the day just seems to stall ,i get very down at times but it still beats laying paving in winter  " my old job"
Soon be spring and the grounds will keep me busy again

Think about what a great year 2018 will be. This time of year is bouyant for new jobs. Get your CV wrote up and start searching for a job. If you don’t do something then nothing will happen and you will stay in the same rut. It’s scary but if you don’t try you will never know!

There is a great author called Rob Parson who writes a book called Wisdom House, fantastic and enlightening light read but not at all lecturing.

I suppose it's already too late for my first tactic which is too set the alarm early the day before then an active day will put you in the mood for a good sleep. No point in lying in bed not sleeping, so my second tactic is just go with it, don't go to bed too early tonight and just deal with it tomorrow. First day back used to take care of itself for me, it was the second day I struggled with for some reason. I can't help you with the other thing.

I am meeting my mate outside the swimming pool at 6.45 in the morning, so up at 5am, luckily I am looking forward to it, mind you I have been very busy decorating all over the break so I have not got into chilled mode.

I wake up at 5 and get up at 6.30.. I just wake up ..no reason
Nightmare. I reckon it's just an age thing. I used to sleep like a baby but I was extremely busy doing a physical job. Now, not so much but like you, I usually open my eyes around 5am.
