Man: See mammoth, chase mammoth, drive mammoth over cliff, job done
Woman: seek berries and tubers. Berries and tubers smaller than mammoth and hide under leaves and bushes and in ground. Mammoth cannot hide under leaves and bushes. So women become more observant at spotting subtle changes in colour. Hence, they can find argyle socks with quick glance in sock drawer and can also remember that they put them in which drawer, because they had to remember where they found berries yesterday or even same time last year.
Men don't need to remember where, or look for subtle colour changes because mammoth is bloody great thing which sticks out and is easy to rmember.
Same with spotting bargains in supermarket and turning over umpteen items in hope of finding lowpriced item Also why they have greater concentration span and why men get bored in supermarket or shoe shop.
