........ eating.

As I posted in another thread I drove instead of riding the 35-36 miles to and from work today. It would have been closer to 40 as I was planning to go across the other side of Cambridge after work but didn't. Neither did I go running this evening 6-7 miles as the clouds looked very threatening and it started raining about 30 minutes ago so I thought sod it and tucked into another big chunkie cookie. Trouble is since I got home at about 4:30pm I have been eating. Even as I write this I am grazing on granola. When I got in I wolfed down two huge cookies you know those jumbo ones Sainsburys or the Co-Op make. One has to be followed by a second. The next thing I ate was 2 bananas and some muesli with raw sugar and cold milk, mmmm, then I poured down 3 Vitality yoghurt drinks, those infuriatingly tiny bottles that just make you drink one more as they hold so little. Then a huge handful of grapes plus some more, two clementines, a yoghurt proper, a hot cross bun. Then I decided to cook tea. Two huge pork chops, broccoli and a plate full of baked beans later I still felt hungry. So I had another hot cross bun and two chocolits from a box of Thorntons (or similar such) that is rapidly emptying. Still feeling peckish I had some more muesli and another yoghurt just now. I did have lunch as well. Tomato and chilli soup, ham roll, beetroot salad with nuts and Gouda cheese followed by yoghurt drink x2. Plus I have drunk loads of water.

Normally when I get in I have a choclit frijj milkshake then a huge bowl of pasta and mushrooms but some reason didn't this evening and I'm still troffing. I feel a bit bloated but still hungry if you know what I mean. I weigh about 70kg so I don't think I am O. I blame the rain.

What do you eat when you get in?

Well I might weigh about 80kg at the moment due to all the food I've taken on board but my normal weight is about 70kg. I am 3ft 6" high though ;). No 5ft 8" really. I would like to get back down to 65kg really. But that would involve severe curtailing of treats which might be a bit tricky.

I just feel so hungry. I think I need to go and switch my burners off. Tomorrow riding to work (hopefully it is dry) will be terrible although rain is predicted and I am a fair weather cyclist now.

For breakfast I had a huge bowl of bran flakes and muesli, sultanas, banana, 2 clementines, yoghurt, a choclit slice thing, 2 thick slices of toast with marmalade, a fried egg, sausage and onions.

I don't think I will be having a rest day again soon. It is working out too expensive on the food front.

OK, stop it now, seriously. I can feel my weight going up just reading your posts.
Some of us don't have the ability to break the laws of nature when it comes to gaining (or not) weight.
I've made my mind up by the way; I definitely hate you! :cursing:

Sorry guys. I am alright with you hating me. I just can't believe how much I have eaten today being such a lazy day, apart from work, which I am on my feet most of the time although I did get to sit down for the first 1.5-2 hours this morning doing a spot of admin. It just shows that my boiler must still be cranked up to high in spite of my rest. I think I am working the next 8-9 days and plan to ride them all so that's almost 400 miles and still run of an evening so maybe today's binge will have little effect?

Ah, you see now we're getting the whole story. I feel better now knowing that you have to work for it ^_^

Somehow now you seem more normal and less super-human. I may even grow to not hate you given time

Sitting 5' 9", 83kg.

And yes, i know that horrible insatiable need to eat after my commute home. I only commute a 20 mile round trip but i can (and will) demolish a packet of McVities Chocolate Digestives in one sitting when i get in. Mind you, even if i wasn't cycling, i'd do the same.

But that need to eat after riding... if i don't, i crash. I ride into work and by 1030hrs i've finished my roll and two bananas for lunch. Then i need chocolate to keep me going in the afternoon. And then a coffee. By five i'm completely done in and the ride home is slow and laborious (granted, i'm usually into 20-30mph headwinds) and exhausting.

I remember reading somewhere that cyclists, in general, feel that it's ok to eat more when we're cycling because we imagine we're burning the calories off. It transpires (saddlebags, tummy and an extra 4kg on my lardy arse) that it is not.

If I have ridden more than 40km in a day I usually have two dinners, not large ones. One when I come in cooked by my better half and then another one at about 9 cooked by myself.

Currently losing weight, due to increased exercise, modified diet and 'Thermobol' although I'm likely to drop the latter - 3 tablets a day's really screwing me up.
I did your 6-7 mile run for you at 5:30 this morning as, although it's a day off work the thermobol seems to have messed up my bodyclock and I've been awake since 4.
Yep it was chucking it down, but the dog enjoyed it....

I have little or no self control, where snacking is concerned. Tend to have a bowl of non fat yogurt or fruit, if possible. If I have biscuits or cereal bars / cake in the house... I will scoff it! Last night I purchased four egg custard tarts, from Sainsburys. I was after the two-pack but they only had fours left... only a quid... can just eat one or two and leave the rest in the fridge. Didn't happen - I had 2 with a cuppa, then raided the fridge and took down the surviving tarts! Best just to buy the single things and pay over the odds, rather than trying to 'save money'. Similar thing happened with a four pack of Mars bars the other day
