I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that after exercising well your metabolism can stay at an increased level for a good day or two afterwards, so it's not surprising that you still feel like you've the need to get the calories in even when you've been off the bike.

I'm 6ft and around 75-76kg but I don't eat anything like as much as you though... large bowl of cereal after cycling to work, small cup of homemade soup with a brown roll and a chocolate bar at lunch, and then a large main meal and a yoghurt in the evening. Sometimes I'll supper it with some cheese and crackers or something if I'm still peckish before bed.
The only times I get the hunger cravings like you describe is when I've not got something else to do to take my mind off it.

Having said all that, I've just polished off a bacon, sausage and egg binlid and I didn't even cycle in today... it is Friday though... and my birthday!

I have little or no self control, where snacking is concerned. Tend to have a bowl of non fat yogurt or fruit, if possible. If I have biscuits or cereal bars / cake in the house... I will scoff it! Last night I purchased four egg custard tarts, from Sainsburys. I was after the two-pack but they only had fours left... only a quid... can just eat one or two and leave the rest in the fridge. Didn't happen - I had 2 with a cuppa, then raided the fridge and took down the surviving tarts! Best just to buy the single things and pay over the odds, rather than trying to 'save money'. Similar thing happened with a four pack of Mars bars the other day
I know exactly what you mean... I'm a classic glutton. It's best not to have it in the house because if it's there it'll go. I can't open a family bag of anything, be it Doritos, Giant Choc Buttons, minstrels etc because despite my best intentions I'll plough through the lot then sit there feeling sick and guilty xx(

In between here and there
I always find that my off days from excercise I want to eat more, yet now on my cycling days I am able to stay good.

Not sure I would be happy with the Thermabol 153mg of Caffine per capsule x 3 460mg caffine per day plus what ever you are drinking in Tea or Coffee you must be totally wired no wonder you cannot sleep, giving me palpitations just thinking about all that caffine!

It's nice to know I'm not the only one. Whenever I tell anyone that I have that little self control over snacks they always laugh along, saying "me too." And then when I actually sit down and eat my entire weight in food they look on disgusted

Can't beat a nice bit of gluttony!

Personally for any physical event I find a nice carby meal the night prior and a generously spread peanut butter sandwich a couple of hours beforehand does me fine. One of which was the Mud Runner Icebreaker (10k mud/trail run, 20km mtb (harder than it sounds) and a 3k run to finish including part of which through a lake); nice ForGoddnessShake after that one as I battled mild hypothermia (it was Feb and did it in shorts, t-shirt and no gloves). When commuting though, due to location it's only about 7-8miles (depending on contract), so usually a glass of water in the morning and breakfast at work :-) Did a 25miler along the south coast (Worthing-Brighton and back) last weekend on a bacon sarnie.

I'm 9.5stone (circa 60kg) and 5'5 for the record; a little monkey

I eat as much as I desire and I don't ever even consider what kind of food I eat or how bad it is for me. The best part of it is that I don't seem to gain any weight. No matter how much I eat or what I eat. I am 5 foot 8 and weigh 65kg. This weight hasn't changed much for about 3 years now. Anyway, this might be because I am still young. We shall see how I do in the future, but so far so good.

Dropped to 2 Thermobols today and its a definite improvement. I can't say its all the thermobol as I've had increased cycling, 2 running races, a couple of runs with the dog and I've finally been serious about watching what I eat. But in the last 7-10 days I've dropped from 13st3lb to 12st10¾lb.
Not necessarily too much for the 1st week, but not a weight loss I'd want to repeat.
2-3lb per week till I'm at 12 to 12st4lb

Problem for me is I'm an opportunistic snacker. Biscuits, vending machines. If they hadn't changed the name I wouldn't find it too hard to do a marathon every day.....

I can honestly say I have absolutely no idea what 70kg is in English! And I can't be arsed to look it up.
