Looks like a slightly different model. Mine doesn't have a knife blade or detachable allen keys
And it's a little pricier. But a pretty good addition to carry in the saddle bag.
I feel you really need a really sharp knife with you, to pull goat head stickers out of your tires.
A bit drastic? Why not use pliers? Getting a knife up close to my tyres would be asking for trouble.
A black or dark grey car, without its lights switched on DLR, driving into a low sun. At least it wasn't (shock horror) driving two abreast. Or a dangerous pedestrian, dressed in black, hooded, gawping at phone, oblivious to the world, walking the (!) road. For example last week's four buffoons coming out of the village heads down and going for it. Two abreast, no lights, all dressed in black, riding into the low sun on a wet and very shiny road. What could possibly go wrong?
I too have paid for the ETA cover for a few years (?£18) but never called. You do realise the cover isn't actually 'get you home'.I took out the cover solely for the “get you home” aspect.
I do like you too, @Pat"5mph" - thanks you for your moderating efforts.I do like you.
Though, I believe @winjim's attitude is the right one.
No, it's OTT: a complete failure of rational thought; or trolling. If riding into or around town or within, say, a couple of miles of home base, carrying a repair kit is mitigating a low risk: the likelihood is low and the hazard is low impact.I think the riskiest and most dangerous thing I could ever do is cycle 500m from the house without a repair kit.
Is this OCD? 😁
Pliers are useless against the tiny goat head thorns. You have to use a very sharp knife to scrape and hook the thorn to get it out.
Were lucky this side of the Atlantic that we don't have these. Or at least if we do they are rare exotics.
