I don't want an X Box, I wouldn't know how to use one and they sound so mind numbingly boring!

Something I came across recently, for those of us that had a Commodore Amiga, is the Amiga 600GS and Amiga1200NG.

These are modern compatable versions of the A600 and A1200, the 600 is probably the most user friendly as its an all in one kit. The 1200 version is just a motherboard, some accessories are available, but you will need a case, drive, HDD etc. I'm keeping an eye on an expected 1200 in full kit that should release this year. I've got pretty big collection of Amiga stuff still and if I got that all working again I'd be pretty happy lol.

I like sports simulation games. I'm addicted to the snooker game on Virtual Pool 4, probably the most realistic snooker game ever made. I have considered a games machine but I'm confused by the number available.

Anyone recommend a decent golf game for the PC?

I remember when arcade games became popular and every newsagent or cafe had a Space Invaders, Asteroids, or Commando machine in it.

I had mates who would spend hours huddled round them, but I could never get into them properly as I'd rather have been outside on my bike or playing football. Same with home computers, waiting for Horace goes Skiing to try and load from a cassette tape onto a ZX81 at the third attempt was enough to make me want to tap dance all over it.

When I was at college we had a Commando arcade game in the NUS bar and that got quite competitive, I even held the high score a few times, the whole home console thing passed me by though.

The most I do now is have a few games on my phone, Minesweeper, Candy Crush, and a snooker game.

I spent several years working in the video game industry (doing boring stuff). I've never played anything more advanced than minesweeper.

But lots of people like them Accy, so don't knock what you've never tried.

I'm a software tester by trade, I've never once considered a career in gaming. Hearing tales of having to repeat the same action 1000 times, all day, every day make working in video games sound as boring as Accy thinks they are!
