I last ran in 1984. Greggs 5 mile Fun Run... yes, honestly, it was sponsored by Greggs. Wonderful counterpoint that was missed at the time.

They had suasage rolls and tea+cakes at the finish line. I was persuaded to run with a work colleague who it be fair to him held back to stay with me... with his encouragement we did 5 miles in 35 minutes.

So, in 1985.... he did it on his own.

No, I don't get the gist And wouldn't it be aptitude that tended to draw characters to the sport that best suits them? And where's the rule book that determines who comes where in which specific 'food chain' you think exists?

I missed out that runners are touchier as well

I'd have to look back through the pics, but it's probably not that far away. As you say, magnificent.

This is how i feel when i run

Seeing as I have an inverted right leg and foot, I probably DO run like that!! ^_^

I played a lot of cricket and rugby for many years and enjoyed the running around involved in those sports. Even interval training for stamina and fitness was OK at training, but to run for the sake of it, for fun and pleasure ...

Run a marathon! I can just about run a bath!

Pleasure, yes. Free drugs, innit. All those endorphins. Gets to the point you won't speak to injured team-mates in case you catch their injury and have to go cold turkey.

Well I did it, I ran to work and back today, 10km in all, and I even enjoyed it, (although I doubt it showed in my face!:heat: ).
So, as weight loss is still very much at the top of my agenda, and seeing as I've very much hit the proverbial wall having lost 18lbs so far this year, I think I'm going to have 4 bike commutes and one run commute per week going forwards.
