It's definitely not as macho as a Capri but at least it goes round corners!

I don't understand this myth about Capris not going around corners and having to put a slab in the boot to make it handle.

It's all utter bullshit..Capris handle really well but if you drive like a twat it will - just like any rear wheel drive front engined car - swap ends.

Macpherson struts, live rear axle and cart springs isn't it?

What I found with the 3.0 Mk1 was that at any speed above 50mph the front end became very light and unresponsive. It wasn't much good at slowing or stopping either. Under 50mph it handled much like my Mk1 Escort.

Mickle - you need to wax it regular if it's RED - our Yaris is as RED as the day it came out of the Factory in 99 - to the extent is was more red than my father in-law's Yaris that was a few years younger (some years back)....

As a cyclist your car don't get used - my car is suffering battery knackery....i.e. full of electrics, heavy drain...time for a maplin solar charger to trickle the battery, cos this no use is killing it........

From next year, my tax will go up loads, it's only a 178 co2 emissions petrol - so it's efficient, but it will be £220 a year, at a use rate of 2 days a week is about £2 per day in tax.....so any fool that has a go at me for not paying road tax will get it......

That is ONE FINE MOTOR. I had one just the same but Le Mans Green (really vivid). RWD is the only way to go if you get pleasure from driving. Stick the motor at the back as well and really get squirrelly.
