Latest update is that the catheter was removed a week last Friday (it hurts!) and I am now independent again. My willie is still sore when I pee but we both decided we don't ever want that thing again. I have thoroughly cleaned my bike today but will wait till next week end to see if I am fit enough to ride again. Seeing my doctor tomorrow for an assessment and possibly stronger pills to keep the prostate gland under check.

Well, I attempted to go for a ride this morning but could only manage 5 miles as my undercarriage is still sore. To be honest, after 5 miles, I was exhausted. I just shows how much this illness has taken out of me. I hope to get back to form before next summer!

Good luck with the recovery, gavroche.

Bad luck indeed. My waterworks are deteriorating slowly with age and what you describe is my worst fear. It's rare for me to enjoy an unbroken night's sleep nowadays....

All the best gavroche. I'm up for a DRE shortly...oh, the indignity. I'm sorry you didn't "embrace" your catheter. I rather liked wandering about Hammersmith Hospital in a dressing gown for two days , lugging a plastic bag of piss. No need to take a pee! Magic.
Hospital visitors didn't seem to share my enthusiasm.
