Can you still get cocodamol? Last I heard there was debate on to stop prescribing as it because the side effects were so bad.

Thing about medication is that you take it to help 1 thing but it can cause problems with other parts of your body. My mum took 1 drug and couldn't pee for 3 days so she had to come off them.
I don't know, this was a while ago.
It's a good pain killer, but a bugger if you take too much.

Conversely four days of treatment didn't dry the my well of stinkiness. The opiates are notorious for causing constipation but only a protracted dosage regime of opiates to dull the excruciating pain of chronic cellulitis bunged me up to the extent that I needed laxitives.
Yes! Opiates and constipation do go together like brother and sister....I am testament to that.

I was having to take 8 Tramadol a day for a back problem. Coming off them was hell. I also suffer migraine & the consultant I spoke to was very sure that opiates cause headaches

I haven't read the whole thread so apologies if someone else has said this, but codeine phosphate tablets should only be taken for three consecutive days. It should say so on the box and should have been pointed out by whoever sold you them.

Funny how you remember stuff, but I found a link to an article from 2012 in the Grauniad about prescription painkiller addiction, particularly in the states. The article is better than the URL.

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2012/nov/28/painkiller-addiction-plague-united-states

I had a day or two on morphine when I caught meningitis (viral, not bacterial thank Dawkins but still had me off work for 2 months) and I can see how easily you could become addicted.

Hope you work it out Jonny.
