I've been 'nominated' but will not be doing it. It's a modern chain mail with menaces and regardless of the beneficiary I'm pretty sure that's illegal. And I don't want to. I make occasional charity donations anyway but keep them to myself.

I nominate God, Jebus and my girlfriend.
I liked your post because you choose not to do It, despite the peer pressure that is unwittingly mounted on us, expectation from others is high, to the point it will put some in an uncomfortable position. Fair play to you, your choice.
Menaces sounds a bit heavy mind ?...is the pressure on some so high it makes you feel that way ?

I think people are just giving to the charity of there choice now,but its all good

Is it?

There is a certain backlash....

MacMillan (cancer charity) has been heavily criticised for "stealing" the idea and hence money form the original charity.

I will not be doing it.

Seems a bit bullshitty to me, ALS piggybacked on to an existing meme.

A mate in the pub last night got copied in on someone's reply:
and I nominate you for the "I give quietly to charity every month by direct debit and don't make a fuss about it" challenge

I did it tonight...for fun....yes fun !!!! Can you remember what that is. It doesnt need to have a purpose, just enjoy the moment fer chrissakes.
Myself, the wife and our eldest grandson partook a great laugh was had, along with most of the rest of the family laughing like gutters.

I will donate but I'll decide later, probably someone here that's doing something for charity.

TBF, it is a load of boll1cks, I dont really care, just smile, have a laugh with people around you...we all did.

What, and you need a social networking site to dictate to you how to have fun? Heavens, if it's family fun you want just open a pack of cards and play games together.

Facebook doesn't own a monopoly on fun and it really ####s me off how easily people get reliant on it for their daily bread.

I did it in knickers and bra and a camp persona it's a laugh that raises money and if that money helps just one person then it's worked

Why not just tot up the money you want to spend each time you see an advert on Facebook that has been selected for you based on the content in your texts that Facebook reads, because you've allowed it to, and then give that money to a deserving charity of your choice. It would help a lot more than one person and would contribute 100% less to Facebooks bank account.

People keep going on and on about it at work, showing endless 'hilarious' clips to anyone interested or not.

It's really tedious. Sorry, just my opinion. I can and do give to charity, I just don't feel the need to be drawn into this though.
