Encountered one of these on the way home.

Approaching queue of traffic at lights, filtered down the offside and stopped behind first car in the queue just before lights go green. Go left into main road. Queue of traffic ahead and had adopted decent primary. Idiot in his Mondeo Sport TDCi "no personality" special edition (with personalised plate) decides to force his way past, stop in front of me and stick his head out of the window:

"How much of the road do you want?"
"As much as I need to ride safely"
"Well, I ride bikes as well you know, and you're a maniac"

Obviously you don't f**king well ride bikes cos otherwise you wouldn't have overtaken me like that...

He's then desperate to try and stop me filtering down the offside, but traffic forced him to stop. Clear oncoming so byeeeeeeee.... Didn't see him after that fortunately.

Just a shame my 139db horn arrangement has suffered battery failure.

Im interested in the horn.fnar fnar.

I should've thought of something like that at the time! Unfortunately a lot of the time suitable retorts only come to me after the event!!

One problem is drivers who see a cyclist, and pull out in front of you, cos they assume you must be going the speed they would be if they were on a bike, which is likely to be about 3mph...

It's a big problem here in Singapore, most cyclists go at a very slow pace, mainly cos it's always so damn hot. Drivers aren't expecting someone to be going at 20mph+

One of these: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...PUDJgEM5RPymmqmAHgq-umIbhibMck7Xgy_ffu7JwupAB

Has its own air compressor and draws up to 18A so needs a decent 12V battery behind it!

Bloody eeek no wonder it had battery failure.

Just checked,it's hot there at the moment.

When are the hottest times there?
How far is it from London?

Cheers.

I've deliberately blocked a cyclist before because I saw them in the rear-view coming up the left hand side. I moved over slowing at some lights to stop them undertaking the left turning lorry a couple of cars in front. The muppet then went round me and obviously had to give way to the lorry.

Any other situation and I wait...I've been on the receiving end of drivers underestimating my bike speed.

It's six or seven thousand miles away or something. It's hot all the time, coldest it ever got was 19 degC. It's midnight and it must be about 25 deg outside. Most days it's 32 in the daytime, sometimes pushes up towards 40, anything below 25 seems cool. It's always humid...

I wouldn't bother blocking them.Im not their nanny.

I have blocked a cyclist, but that was only because they kept playing cat and mouse between all the sets of traffic lights around Woking. They'd go to the front, we'd all overtake them, they'd go to the front, etc, etc. I went further left to save having them undertake again when I knew they wouldn't be catching me up again. It also saved them being overtaken closely by the cars in front and saved me waiting behind them

Didn't do it for their safety, just did it as it made it more easier for me. I wouldn't of minded if they weren't dawdling along.

This problem would be solved if people chilled out about RLJ
