The Motorman just outside Marsden closed this summer just gone.
The owners sold up and retired after 40 years running it.
New owners have turned the property into housing apparently....
Oh dear!!

Still, it was to come, I guess - ever since the M62?

Plus, like many others, even more since drivers had to follow pre-set routes, for tracking/fuel economy (& weight restrictions too)

In Scotland you can order a breakfast munchie box and they deliver to your door -

There was a cafe near my office which did 3 variations:

The “Full Breakfast”: Bacon, sausage, egg, beans, toast, black pudding, tea.

The “Fat Ba****d”: as above, but extra bacon and sausage, plus mushrooms

The “Builder’s Breakfast”. A “Fat B****d", with chips....

They also did “The Hangover, for 4”, at 16 quid, which was basically 4 Fat Ba****ds....

There was another seriously hardcore Super Sausage transport café in Northampton . The breakfast menu started with "The Transit", progressed to "The Luton", and ultimately ended with "The HGV".
that's more like it - if you're going to drive a truck all day you need a bump start like this in the morning, keeps you going till Ballinluig where you can get a proper fryup to keep you rolling till CafeV8 for your tea.
I miss the home made soup at Broxden that kept you going. CafeV8 is ok - doesn't quite live up to expectations imo. The bacon rolls at The Horn near Errol are legendary though - probably a dozen rashers of greasy streaky bacon per roll.
