Just bought a groupset from one of the team ( a Breton called Luc) who mark the route for the Tour de France and other ASO races. In short they drive the route a couple of days in advance and put all the arrows and other directions in place. The parcel arrived with added Le Tour goodies, including KoM arm warmers :becool:

Which interesting, famous or just plain odd people have you bought stuff from?

I bought my Falcon frames via Billy Holmes, silver medallist team Road race 1956 Olympics.

Bought (for £8) a Mercian track frame from a very well known and good rider in 1968. Did all my PB's on it then stored it in the loft for many a year, before bring it down and racing on it again in the 90's and early 00's, before selling it on (for £50) as I stopped using it.

The rider I bought it from - the late Cliff Ash (mid shropshire wheelers).
Had to make the cheque out for Cash!

I once bought a bike off someone who was the spitting image of Ron Weasley's dad. The resemblance was so uncanny that I was compelled to look up the actor's name on the internet when I got home, despite knowing that the guy I bought the bike off ran a cafe and was not an actor.
