The cycle lane doesn't actually extend to the right - I was using it as an example of how a crossroads could look. Or simply paint a small circle in the middle and call it a mini roundabout. There's no need for something the size of that in one the OP

How do the pedestrians know when it's safe to cross the cycleway in the OP - there's no lights there either.
