So breaking the speed limit by 1mph destroys the fabric of our society, but a legal war does not.
Mmmm ok.

I have no issue with legal protest against laws.I'd suggest that the law in some respects could be deemed the cause. Detention without proof, do you stand by that AFS? It's the law, it's not ethical, it's not moral and it sure as hell isn't good for our society. We have laws that cause community segregation, designed to cause splits based on creed or religion. You cannot argue that our law hasn't gone some way to causing this. Why should a youth have respect for something that values them by their birth or heritage.
You really need to drop your "the law is a panacea and we shall abide" view, it turns you into a sheep [sic]. The law is a set of rules, ignoring, bending, breaking or even protesting ones that are not right is a good thing.

Your views of the law are very different to mine if you think it should not be respected by the youth. You sound as if you agree with the jolly japery the kids are involved in.
I was wondering when this topic would be brought up. If you truely believe that the last government was racist then you are not someone I want to waste bytes on.It's not you're either with us or against us though. No one should respect a law that will imprison someone without proof. That way lies terror. Need I remind you of recent European history where the Russians used this technique to keep other countries in fear and stop uprisals.
Are you saying you respect people for racism? That is what the last government asked of us, to respect them and the police for laws designed to target ethnic groups. So to follow your logic, if you think that law should be respected by youth you are indeed a racist.

I should give it up AFS. They are ganging up on you.![]()
I've never been ond to take the path of least resistanceThey tend to be the type of people who wanted to be bullies at school, but were too small and spotty.![]()

So it must be ok to steel if you think something is two expensiveIs it a good thing for a motorist to break the speed limit because he personally thinks it is too low?
Yes so do I and dear old Willy Whitelaw and his short sharp treatment that was going to cure thugery and make sure the bad boys and girls did not want another dose of it, never worked because there was nothing to follow it and it just made the thugs fitt. And then the softly softly approach came, it never worked because that's what it was softly softy.I remember the riots of the 80's very well and old and cynical enough to say I've seen it all before. I recall the same noises being made by politicians, pressure groups and rioters back then as they are now.
Society may have moved on / changed in the last 30 years but when you scratch away the glossy facade human nature is exactly the same. Nothing is new in this world, it's just recycled by a different generation.

Perhaps this is actually true, and the disrespect for the law created by breaking the speed limit by 1mph has led directly to the riots of the last few days.
It could be quite a persuasive argument for fitting pedal reflectors

I must confess, I did cut across a couple of metres of pavement on my cycle home. I'm expecting to be tear-gassed at any moment.
