Well after the sole of my aldi shoes snapped I decided to replace them with some better quality ones, I found spiuk uhra MTB shoes. They arrived but when I tried them on they were a bit too snug so sent them back and ordered the next size up........ or so I thought!

I re ordered my shoes in a bit of a hurry in my lunch break the next day and only just noticed today that instead of the MTB ones I ordered the road ones!! Doh!! Luckily they are compatible with the 2 bolt cleats so I'm just going to go with them, they are almost identical!

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Yup the aldi shoes are pretty poor for sole strength, i went for decathlon rockrider MTB shoes and as @petaud says the sticking out cleats with be not much fun to walk on compared to recessed cleats .

Send them back and get the right ones, spd on road shoes is lethal.

You will skate around ... the cleat on MTB Shoes is recessed so you can walk, it is proud of the shoe on the road version, so you will find difficulty walking

recessed cleat for walking, fairly rigid sole

my reason for changing is a do a lot more walking than i would like to in my cycling shoes

will it be any more dangerous or harder to walk then spd-sl?
Cheers Ed

I wonder how far you guys actually walk!
I have SLs and have no difficulty walking around. Even been known to nip round a supermarket for a few bits on the way home.
