My mate saw my bike the other night and has now got himself one also had a couple of others wanting to come out with me  I don't mind anyone coming with me as long as they abide by a few obvious rules 1. They must wear a helmet not just for their own safety but as my kids ride with me I can't promote safety to them if people with us aren't abiding by it 2.must have lights for the same reason above 3.they go at the pace of the slowest rider if not then they may as well ride alone.I think that's more than fair isn't it

Jawohl mein führer!

No, that sounds fair enough. if they want to ride with you and your kids, then they should accept your conditions. If not, then they are equally free to ride by themselves.

Oh well, I have noted rule 1, which rules me OUT of riding with you. Why insist on rules not required by law, and which are of questionable benefit? After all, cycling is NOT dangerous.
I think this thread may end up being moved to join the other pile of similar threads.

Need a helmet for your leg :hugs:
Well if someone has invented Kevlar lycra that you can't feel and doesn't impede pedalling, let me know

In all three falls, I've been wearing a helmet and my head and face have been unscathed

The drunken fall I had without a helmet (and without a bicycle) after my work leaving do, this was not the case

Tell that to my battered left leg! Been injured three times now in cycling accidents!

Tell me when you find a helmet which fits your leg! (Must type faster than cyberknight).
I have had several offs over the years, skinned my heart and skinned my knees (learned of love and ABCs), also hips, hands etc. but NEVER my head.

As long as I breathe, I attack.

Nope, I always skin my right knee (and elbow), but my left leg either twists or makes heavy contact with the frame of the bike!

I think the rules are fine, the only time we change.from something similar (when riding with OH grown up kids) is climb at your own pace & see you at the too. Obviously wouldn't do this with youngsters
