...and been waved at (in a 'frantic' manner).

I was driving (shock - horror), and turned left onto a main road, car behind doesn't indicate and follows me. I then turned right at a roundabout, the car behind (and the one behind it) follow and don't indicate. I turn left at a roundabout, car behind (and the one following don't - pattern developing?). I then indicate left up a slip road (to let cars turning out of it know I am turning) and the car behind me just piles through without indicating.

I then brake to about 5mph and turn left into a side street and don't indicate.

Car behind flashes headlights, blares horn and waves hand at me. Is it because I didn't indicate and it inconvenienced them?

Is it ok for them to carry out 4 junction manouvres with no indication to other vehicles, but when they are 'not indicated to' they go ballistic?

Wassup?

Chill out, I was just adopting your driving style, or are you the only one allowed to do that?

Edit: I didn't indicate the last time deliberately, to check their reaction - 30mph limit and I'd slowed down by braking (lights) and they were in no danger of ramming me.

No, it's because you slowed down. You should have gone round the corner at at least 30mph not 5mph to avoid slowing them down. I regularly get the same turning onto the little estate where I live and it doesn't make any difference whether I indicate or not.

I've started doing this to car drivers - who follow me in "my car" without indicating. I get the same reaction - they seem to switch off and just follow what's in front. I also try to position myself on the road so I don't use my brakes going into roundabouts etc and watch in my rear view mirror as they struggle to take the turn - because they only brake when I do.

I don't do it on my bike though(yet!) as I'm more concerned(at the moment) with my own personal safety and their general bad driving than pissing them off.

Perhaps they were annoyed that you had the temerity not to be going where they wanted to go, forcing them to do their own indicating from then on...

I was wrong to do what I did, and in reflection it was a stupid, childish thing to do. Also pointless, as they would be none the wiser as to why I didn't indicate.

I will behave in future.

HC says no need to indicate when unecessary which might cover their manouvres but not yours

I'm a Landrover driver, this means I know how to use (all 12) gears, if I get in front of someone who has cut me up or whatever, then I have the ability to go from 70mph to stationary in about 200m without touching the brakes, and easily can cruse up to a set of lights 100m ahead and bring the speed down one mile an hour at a time without touching the brakes

It annoys the hell out of them, it makes them assume the brake lights are not working, so they keep their distance, until you show them they do work. Then let them go in front, just so you can use the 'daylight' front spotlights, which light up the inside of their screen to such a level to make driving almost impossible.

So do you get off road much in Greenwich ?
