Unfortunately 'hope' doesn't help. There's significant research to show that motorists do precisely that - drive closer to riders with helmets (presumably because subliminally they see helmeted cyclists as 'less vulnerable').J4CKO said:What it does do is give a visual signal to motorists that you take your safety seriously and perhaps if it makes them think they may treat us differently , they may also think that they can knock us off as our marvellous bit of polystyrene will save us but I would hope not.
