My 'utility' bike is a dutch loop ladies frame, even though I am a fella. I had this as my main bike for a couple of years when I was learning to deal with some hip troubles, that although are no better, are now being managed better, but I still keep it for 'bad days' if y'get m'drift. It does make heads turn as it is such an obvious lady frame, but it rides really nice and comfortably. I think it is akin to sitting in an arm chair compared to an upright school room chair.

I think best colour scheme for a bike is red and black :girl:
Noooooo! metallic red and silver surely:excl:

I quite like pink and flowers, but I do agree, it shouldn't be the automatic "girls" choice
My dawes is silver, myka white and grey, caprice is a kind of blue/purple (tis girly with pretty writing on but that was the point). When I got the folder I took ages to decide between hot pink and capucino, decided against the hot pink in the end for the sake of OH when he's riding it.
The previous bikes I had were cheapy womens mountain bikes and I think they were both lilac (bleugh).
My favorite coloured bike is the silver dawes, sadly for sale now

I think you would like dr_pink's new Onix bike, it's red and black and looks absolutely stunning. All her bikes are "mens", she is 5'6" and never looks at the womens specific ones which we think are something of a con, even if you are quite short there is much more choice with small men's bikes and adjust the stem accordingly if you have to. A friend of ours is coming up from London this weekend and I have sourced her a nice upgrade from the womens specific Specialised Dolce to a nice carbon men's Bianchi.
Saw dr_pink's new bike pictures you posted. Very nice
Alas, due to my age, (non) experience and abhorrence of padded cycling attire, I favor (much) chunkier tyres

I have a Cannondale Synapse and it is a WSD as I am only 5' 1 ish and have a sgort back so struggle with the reach on mens/unisex. I agree on the whole colour thing...so sick of anything womens specific including pink!!! My synapse is blue and white so no pink in sight thank goodness!!!

I am in full agreement with the comments about the "women's specific" colour scheme. I hate it. Luckily, the only women's frame bike I have is glossy black with gold scrip on it. I have a tendency of buying men's cycling clothes also, because of the stupid pink colours or flowery accents.

Mrs 3BM's got a Charge Lazy Susan, it's not a distance bike but then she's not a distance cyclist.

None of my bikes are female specific. I'm 5'7" so I don't need the smaller frame. I do, however, have a Brompton, which is very skirt-friendly. That is my utility bike, i.e. I'm in cycling-specific gear for any of the other bikes (99% of the time). I also dislike women's stuff always being pink, blurgh.

My off-road bike is a Specialized HardRock, I had the handlebar shortened by a fraction of an inch and it's fine. I do love my Vita so very much more though that I'll probably look at the Myka next time. Errands bike is a Dawes Cambridge mixte which Is a perfect fit too.

oops, I've just put pink tape on my silver Raleigh MTB. It is a few years old and I wanted to brighten it up a little. I normally hate anything pink but I like it on my bike.
