Cracking place for a cycle. I've used Roy's Bike Hire - near the ferry port in Playa Blanca - and found him excellent. Agree with @jay clock about the Fermes climb - it's brutal for the last couple of hairpins. There's a great route out towards Yaiza where the old road runs next to the main LZ2 drag.
This, and then turn left at the salt flats and go round to El golfo has got to be one of the best coastal bits I have ever done. Just love that black rock, blue sea white foam crashing thing there.
We always hire off-road bikes and bob around on the rough tracks and go over towards Papagayo, etc. as well as plodding along the roads on them. We dont do many miles usually, but we usually hire for the whole week - it's cheap enough on those bikes, or used to be. Not jealous!
