With so many people cycling the route for charity is there a way of using the 200th anniversary of Kirkpatrick MacMillan to benefit their charities?
Kirkpatrick is said to have invented the pedal bicycle and ridden it from Drumlanrig Estate in Dumfriesshire to Glasgow (in only two days) back in 1842 (170 years ago next year).

Seems to good an opportunity to let slip passed.

The man is, perhaps, too obscure to make any capital of his claim to fame.

I only know of his existence through the telling of his tale to me by a camp site owner near Penpont in Dumfrieeshire.
