Anyone that knows CS7 probably knows how poor the stretch of road by oval going southbound is.
Witnessed a very bad left hook this afternoon, the cyclist involved was trying to keep calm, but was extremely shaken up, the scooter rider and I waited with her for a few minutes.

    blimey.. that was nasty.
And the car following wasn't paying attention either.

Very close call for the lady.

What an absolutely wretched piece of driving.

    Thank God she wasn't hurt.

The driver tried to blame the whole thing on the van in front of him, which passed him on the offside, changed into his lane and then passed in front of the cyclist, not quite sure how that made his driving worse, as the same situation would have happened, just at different speeds.

Are scooters allowed in the cycling lane then? Sorry for the stupid question, it's extremely rare to see a scooter for me.

The redish lane? that would be a bus lane. In London motorcycles and scooters are allowed in most bus lanes.

Think it was a bus lane. Scooters or motorbikes are not allowed in bus lanes on my commute but motorbikes still use them.

Not here, well not motorcycles anyway, not sure about scooters.
Here the reddish lane is a "bus, taxi and cyclist" lane. Private cabs use it too - not sure if it's actually legal for them to do so, but they do use it.

That looked very nasty! Thank god the victim wasn't hit because that would have been very nasty.

Without knowing the road it's hard to say what to do there.

  15. So glad she was aware of the lorry and turned away...shocking driving and could have been so nasty.
The lorry did stop (a bit late imho) so knew where she was, despite the risk.
