Just picked up some of the capri tight things and some socks. They didn't look to have sold much.
M(r)s JC fancies some. Any idea on sizing Helen? She is a 12 on the top half possibly 14 lower down....

GRR well that was a waste of a lunchtime.. the lidi just down the road had nothing I wanted, just a few tops, heaps of the knee protectors and some tools and lights. They did not even have signs up for the Paniers or gloves so obviously never had any in the first place.

Not sure if I have the energy to go to another one this evening to try there or not..

I'm a 12 and bought the medium but I haven't had chance to try them on yet. I'll report back later.

I've blagged a pair of panniers, very nicely made, very solid and heavy duty with lots of internal reinforcements around the mountings.

They're of the heavy waterproof tarpaulin type with roll-top closures, rather than the showerproof lightweight nylon type. Just what I wanted.

Grrrr, the Nicolson street one in Edinburgh wasn't doing the cycling special. If I can work up the energy I might head over to Leith or somewhere...

Double grrr. I cycled down to the end of Leith walk to go to the Lidl there. I got some shoes (which I don't need, but there you go) and a saddle bag complete with crappy tools but they didn't have any shorts at all, or panniers, men's jerseys etc. Are any of the Edinburgh places well stocked?

Don't think so. Went back to Bo'ness and Broxburn stores today.....all gone

The Lidls in Gorgie road seems to get all the leftovers from around the area. They have stuff there from weeks before. Might be worth a look at the weekend.

Hoorah. Choice of two Lidls in my home town! First one had some of the gear, but limited overall. Got a jersey for the Cubester. Went to the other, larger store where they had all the stuff in. Got a Jersey for me, a pair of the Capri shorts for Cubette. Looked at the shoes and decided they might be cheap, but they were about twice the weight of my Spesh Tahos, so left them in the shop. The saddle bag toolkit was tempting, but the tools appeared to be made of cheese, and as I generally carry the same tools in my hydration pack or rucksack decided not to bother. Couldn't leave the £3.90 wireless computer alone though. Bargain!

The Shoes are good - Had mine since August and they have lasted through all the snow, rain and - temperatures.
Not too bad to walk in either.
They are quite heavy though.

Jay - the medium fits me fine so will probably be OK for M(r)s JayClock.

been back this morning and found a pair of shorts in what might be my size. like everyone else has said, no mention of what Large, etc actually covers, but at 6'2 I guessed I'd be at least a Large. got some abuse in work when I showed them about, and I'm still a bit unsure about going about on a hybrid with lycra shorts on (wait...this is another reason to buy a racer with the C2W scheme!)

Bought a 1.99 multi-tool (which is much, much better quality than that poundland versions!) and a mini-pump for 1.99 (which all came in handy with my 2 bloody punctures today!)

Also got a jacket today from a different branch which seems unbelievable value at under a tenner. Very impressed.
