I posted in another thread somewhere - I got shirts, socks and a mini-pump from one shop and managed to get one of the £3.90 wireless computers from another (which I fitted last night). Then the other day I was in another town so managed to get some mitts.

I've already worn one of the shirts and they're ok. I have found the pocket is a little high up my back and they don't do anything for my odour

The wireless computer fitted OK and I'll be taking it on my normal commute today to see how it performs.

If anyone still has some XL gents gloves in their local Lidl, would they mind picking up two pairs for me ? I'll pay the cost plus postage / packing !

PM me if you're able to help.

I've done around 50 miles with the wireless computer and it is affected by LED lights - still not bad for £3.90 though.

I have a black short sleeved cycling shirt from there in Medium - still in pack, if anyone wants it PM me. It was £6.84 I think so yours for £7 posted. Sizing is about right - I am 40" chest, 34 waist and this fits ok, I have just decided I do not need another shirt ( I also got a white which I am keeping)

Have to say, I am very happy with the gear I got from Lidl, for the money I can't complain. Bit miffed the pump fell out of the clips and went missing the first time I used it though.! For that money I can go and get another one, aha maybe that is their plan!

The Shoes are good - Had mine since August and they have lasted through all the snow, rain and - temperatures.
Not too bad to walk in either.
They are quite heavy though.
i only picked the shoes up they are far too heavy about the same weight as a pair of boots.

Moose, how affected? I rode home the other night and discovered that my Max speed was showing 73.6mph. Now, I can't remember getting up to that sort of speed, even briefly. Is that likely to have been caused by LEDs? I put one of those Tesco Micro-LEDs on the front of my helmet, and had it on the unmissable strobe setting so do you think that's the reason?

I bought a Lidl computer last week, very pleased with it, especially the fat burnt display.:becool: However it too has shown me doing 40mph on my Brommie, not quite as terrifiying as Cubist's 73 mph but a bit oot all the same. I think it could be some roadside interference, if I check it half way along my normal route ( after the fastest bit downhill ) it's showing a sensible value, but by the end has lost it. I intend to try to narrow down where it jumps by doing more frequent checks, assuming I don't ride into the back of a bus doing so.

More than likely - my Max speed was about the same as yours (70ish mph), but my cateye triple-shot is just the other side of the stem to the computer.

The other night, it wouldn't register anything at all and went to sleep, but it was fine the next day.

I finally got some pedals and cleats and got to try out my Lidl shoes today. They're ok - a bit sweaty (not very breathable) and not especially easy to walk in but I survived a trip round Sainsburys without landing on my arse.

My most exciting moment was having the cleat come unscrewed from the shoe and consequently not being able to unclip. Luckily I realised what had happened and it wasn't on the open road anyway. Must keep them properly tightened in future...

Oh and by the way, clipless is fun! Initially I felt insecure without my clips and straps but not having to tense my foot when pulling up was very nice. Clipping in is also very easy.
