Bought the computer (£3.99) yesterday. I used to have a computer over 10 years ago and it cost well over £20 back then. This thing has even more functions including calories used, fat burnt, temperature and a backlight. Incredible for the price. Will probably cost as much for a new battery for it.

Yesterday I bought some socks, the gilet and the waterproof trousers.

Wearing the socks now and they feel comfy, seem better quality than the ones I got last year.

The gilet's decent too. Went for a size smaller than I'd normally get (38-40 rather than 42) and it's a good fit. Nice and snug but long enough. Kept the wind out on my cycle home, just right for spring.

I went for the xl trousers cos I need the length (I've a 35 inch inside leg) and they're not too baggy. They'll live in my pannier and come out for jeans wearing downpours.

I picked up a helmet yesterday.

Went back this morning and got the lights (not bad for £10, just been around the block and the front one gives a reasonable span of light, and a lot better than my LED). The small saddle bag with tool kit (even though I have one already, but a sucker for a bargain). A couple of pairs of socks (which appear to be better quality than the one's I picked up from Aldi last Autumn), and the bike storage system (not sure when I'll use it, but for £5 worth keeping in the garage, tho never know.

Tried on various bits of clothing, but it was clear they were not tailored for me. Felt the shorts did not have much padding when compared to my Karrimor one's I got from Sports Direct.

So that's my bag of booty from Lidl, waiting on Aldi announcing their cycle event now, see what I can pick up there. Really want a bike stand though, will be keeping an eagle eye and setting the alarm clock for when they come up on offer.

Stopped off at the Felixstowe branch on the way in to work Monday morning and picked up the only 2 medium sized full zip jerseys in store, two pairs of gloves, two packs of socks and one of the tool kit/saddle bags.

Popped in again this morning to get another tool kit/bag and there was still plenty of stock left. This must be the best bargain as where else can you get a clip on saddle bag that will hold an unboxed tube, pair of disposable gloves, three tyre levers, a mini tool (not necessarily the one in the kit) and a puncture repair kit for under a fiver on its own.

I didn't bother with the computer as I already have the previous 30 function version (too much information and a difficult to read display) but if the new versions are the same, to avoid having to scroll through all the functions hold down the right hand button that changes the display screen for a few seconds and it should return to the clock.

I went for a shopping spree!
2 shirts
1 gillet
1 pair of shoes gonnna keep for spare

What are the Jerseys like for fit? I'm quite broad and 6 foot 2 in height. I tend to wear an XL in Specialised and Foska brands. 44 inch chest.

I am the same height but about a 38 inch chest and usually go for a medium in t-shirts so long as they have enough length. I tried a half zip and full zip jersey both in medium and they fit me well, quite snug but definitely long enough. The medium does say 38-40 on the packaging so go for whatever is a 44 in Lidl.

It appears that the unemployed, feckless residents of Thamesmead don't cycle much, as they had loads of everything in stock at the Thamesmead store.

I picked up a track pump, shorts, top, gloves and gillet. I might go back tomorrow to pick up more bits. Even if they last 6 months you cant go wrong at these prices.

I bought the XL today and I have a 42" chest - the jersey was too big. I'd suggest XL for you; I need to go back and get an L instead.

The returns policy is fantastic. I went to Coalville branch today and gotvthe jacket XL, which was perfect fit, and the trousers M (only size they had I thought I'd try them, they only fitted 1 leg). This evening went to Swadlincote store and they had XL ( )and had no problem with swapping them.

Went for the black gilet and might go back for the white one too!

Thought the socks looked a bit fluffy - prefer the Aldi socks.

Was tempted to buy lots of other bits but resisted as I've got it all already!!
