Longest time to complete a sportive

Those of you who have been here a while may recall that 4 years ago Mrs Kes had a freak unclipping accident whilst riding the @Polocini "let them eat cake" sportive. She shattered her lower leg and has endured a long slow recovery (and still has a limited range of Movement).

Today we returned to Nantwich and re-ran the route. This time completing the whole ride ( with an additional 10 mile loop due to the garmin getting confused).

She smashed her previous times, and this time we didn't end up in Chester A+E.

So proud of her, the sheer guts she's shown to get this far is amazing.

Kestevan modestly neglects to mention that he has had to have surgery on a mangled knee to get him back in good riding order, so well done to BOTH riders!

Well done to you both, I bet that feels amazing. in the past If I've failed to complete an event it always felt twice as satisfying to go back the following year and complete it.

Well done to you both. I have unfinished business with the London to Southend BHF ride after this years one I'm determined to ride the last 1/2 mile after having to walk it this year
