What about riding in a comedy fashion? Drop the saddle right down and pedal with your knees sticking out whilst weaving about all over the road.

If he completed the ride like that, it would be one of the greatest cycling feats of endurance ever

Not if it is a very short ride.

As a clueless kid I used to ride with my saddle really low. Trust me, even the 2 miles to Tesco would be knackering.

Bontrager / Trek do some unusual designs, polka dots and zig zag stripes and all that. Not quite comedy, but a bit quirky at least. The bar tape equivalent of an Adam Hart Davies waistcoat, or Portillo's blazers.

How about a rubber snake,just fasten it in two places on the bars so you can get to your brake levers.
