My "new" (to me) Honda is in tomorrow. Needs an indicator bulb, which is a surprising balls-ache as it needs the wheel removed and panel removal from below ffs. Anyhow hopefully not too bad otherwise

Woop woop it's passed.

Always a bit of worry the first MOT on a new car as you are never entirely sure if the previous MOT is from Arthur Daily motors. The service book being full of stamps from a certain exhaust fitting chain didn't exactly fill me with confidence !

Anyway, the Picanto's going in for it's MOT next month. It's never had major issues (fails have been tyres, linkage, a belt, light bulbs, etc), and been relatively inexpensive repairs overall.
The trade-in value for the car is £86 (it's had a rough life).
So what do we think will be wrong with it?
Or should be just scrap it?

An old car, particually a small one with an MOT is fairly gold dust to some people, someone looking for a cheap first car or a cheap commuter for someone. I suspect even if you scrapped it, if it didn't have anything major wrong with it it could still end up back on the road, guys at scrapyards are fairly smart at recognising those cars.

If it's new, then it won't have a previous MOT?

My Insignia goes in for MOT tomorrow. Not actually due until 27th October, so plenty of time to sort anything they find, though I'm off for a week' holiday on Thursday and need it to get to Bristol airport.

Is it cdti model?

Our friend has one, forever having faults with glow plugs(expensive type) turbo boost, parking brake error codes.

Good luck for tomorrow, or is it today

Van Diesel is booked in at the Main Stealer for end of October. Main service too (all prepaid). It's only had one oil change in 4 years (commercial) but that oil change was 2 years ago and it's only done 10k in those two years. 30k by the first service, now on 40k. Booked a courtesy car. Also in for a recall on two bolts that can corrode on the control arm (no sign on my model as much newer).

The Aygo was definitely an Arthur Daily MOT when we got it 4 years ago. Brake pads and discs were shot, should not have passed and the cat promptly snapped off at the manifold.

No, it is the "Eco" model. And it passed with two advisories (one of which has also been present on the last two tests  ). Never experienced any of those faults with it.
