Yep, it's that time of year again. Time to drag the car through its M.O.T.

0800hrs tomorrow I'll be down The Arches so 'honest' Phil Mitchell can put the Smart car through its paces.

So it's time for our annual friendly wager - will I leave the arches happy and tripping through imaginary fields of tulips, or will I be reaching for the phonebook to get the number for Dignatas? If it's the latter, what nasty and horrible surprises will Honest Phil clobber me with, and how much will he want as a bribe to write out the ticket?

What has it had problems with in the past?

The last 2 tests have been clean, with only advisories for the brakes. I fitted new brakes all round and did the fluid 1500 miles ago, so that shouldn't be a problem.

That's cheered me up - a well below average failure rate. You'd blooming hope so too considering what Mercedes dealers charge to maintain them.

Corroded suspension
Seatbelt doesn't retract

Advisories:

Rear suspension track control worn
Worn LH rear tyre
No sense of owning a decent brand

Total cost: £350. Plus VAT.

Mine failed a few weeks ago because of a wiper blade. A year before, it failed because of the other wiper blade. I reckon @Drago's wheels will breeze through.
