Manchester Sky Ride - Sun 2/8/09

I only read about it on here on Sunday morning and realised it was the day - got my son up, put some commuter tyres on the MTB and drove down to the Cathedral car park then rode in from there. He loved it! We were disappointed at how short the circuit was so turned back at the bridge with the steel sculptures and did 10 miles. Didn't realise you could ride inside the Velodrome though. The food was good back in the square, the lad (aged 10) ate a M&S sandwich then a whole portion of chicken paella! The atmosphere was great but I might dispute the estimate of 15,000 riders....
