Why?

It looks like the pencil-sized hole rumour could be a myth. Their nippers might be in with a chance though.

My wife is a gentle soul and shuns killing even a 'king mosquito, She bought the humane trap and she caught 23 mice and released them within days.
I was brave enough to ask her how and where she released them and my synopsis is that she caught and released the same mouse 23 times. So I say catch them humanely then ....:gun:

There's always the electric trap!
peststopmus_med.jpg

"Electrocutes your mice humanely.
Electronic mouse killer to humanely kill house mice and field mice. The very latest zapper for mice. Cleanest and most humane way of killing mice. Not for outdoor use.Place peanut butter in the unit and wait for the mouse to arrive, when he enters he will tread on a high power footplate that will stun and then electrocute the mouse. No need to touch the dead body, just pick up unit and empty into your waste bin."
they will have more of a chance in surviving being relocated then they will if you kill them.

I would imagine they will fair quite well if relocated to a suitable enviroment, and if they don't then they will make a nice meal for an owl or a fox. Relocating has to be better than just killing them and chucking them in the bin off to landfill.
Did think of relocating them to the Mother-in-Law's house..........

We had rats in our loft for 3 winters running, absolute pain in the ass!.

Trapped 6 of them in total (snap traps) and Council came in and bated the drains eventually for free (next door is Council owned).

Bizzarly leaving our Loft light on all the time had the biggest effect for some reason.

We set bait down as well.

Get on top of it as quick as you can before it turns into a major problem and releasing them anywhere near your house will just see them come back again unfortunately..
